Ainslie Henderson and Will Anderson’s Monkey Love Experiments and Cara Connolly and Martin Clark’s Exchange and Mart have been selected to play Encounters Festival.

The award winning films have already had great success in their festival run with Exchange and Mart screening at Sundance, Berlin and LA Film Festival, and Monkey Love Experiments selected for LA Shorts Fest, EIFF and Ottawa.

Also selected is Ruth Paxton’s Pulse, a short commissioned via the New Music Biennal / Commonwealth Games by the Royal Philharmonic Society and produced in association with DigiCult’s sister company Edge City Films. Pulse reunites writer/director Ruth Paxton and producer Rosie Crerar, who previously worked together on the award-winning DigiCult short Paris/Sexy.

Based in Bristol, Encounters is the UK’s leading short film and animation festival and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, presenting  20/20: Looking back to look forward.

On Wednesday 17th September, Exchange and Mart screens in the Short Film 3: Memory Lane programme and Monkey Love Experiments plays the following day in their Animation 5 – Love, Loss and Loneliness programme. Pulse plays in the States of Mind programme on Friday 19th September. Tickets are available to buy online.

Congratulations to all the filmmakers involved!
