Scottish Digital Shorts 2010 —
Submissions Now Closed

Scottish Digital Shorts is Scotland’s key development initiative for new and emerging screenwriters and directors run by DigiCult. Our open call for submissions in November 2009 resulted in over 165 applications from all over Scotland.

DigiCult is delighted to announce the Scottish Digital Shorts 2010 talent pool. 10 new filmmakers have been identified to develop short live action and animation projects. The 10 come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines including animation, advertising, theatre and graduates from Skillset Screen Academy Scotland and the National Film & Televsion School.

The talent pool now enters the development phase: working their short drama or animation projects through one-to-one meetings with DigiCult producers. The development is coupled with The Script Factory training in London led by experienced and high profile tutors and guest speakers including Oscar & BAFTA-nominated director, Mike Figgis, actress Natalie Press, and BIFA-award-winning directors Eran Creevy and Paul Andrew Williams. The talent pool will also take part in The Story Room – a character & story development workshop led by DigiCult Exec Producer Paul Welsh and taking place at Cove Park on the Rosneath Peninsula.

In April 2010, 4 of the developed projects will be commissioned for production.

The Scottish Digital Shorts 2010 talent pool is:
Jessica Ashman
Stuart Elliot
Zinnie Harris
Gregor Johnstone
Marten Jonmark
Catriona MacInnes
Kerry Anne Mullaney
Ruth Paxton
Ben Soper
David Stoddart

Scottish Digital Shorts 2010 is co-financed by Scottish Screen, UK Film Council, and BBC Scotland and supported by RSAMD and South West Scotland Screen Commission.
