Since 2002, DigiCult has fused low-budget film production with critical dialogue, practical craft-based workshops in new technology and intense levels of script development. In that time, working exclusively with Scottish-based talent, DigiCult has developed over thirty short film projects and gone on to produce fifteen scripts on a variety of digital formats. These shorts continue to screen around the world. | In line with the original goals of the project, building on the success of their DigiCult shorts, many of the talent pool have secured further commissions from UK film agencies, TV broadcasters and independent producers. These include Scottish Screen, UKFC, STV and BBC. Since 2001, DigiCult has been exclusively funded by the UK Film Council (New Cinema Fund) and the Glasgow Media Access Centre (GMAC). All the short films have been Executive Produced on behalf of UKFC and GMAC by Paul Welsh (Edge City Films) and Caroline Cooper Charles (Lifesize Pictures). DigiCult continues to experiment and push the form. |
